On the edge of the Peak District nestling within sweeping moor land, Lyme Park is a magnificent estate with the characters of the Legh family and servants imprinted on it. Its wild remoteness and powerful beauty contrast with one of the most famous country house images in England. The garden, house and park provide a backdrop for every mood, whether for letting off steam or quiet relaxation. It continues to be noble, glorious, and so much more than a walk in the park.

There is plenty to see and do. The Garden has a changing display of Spring and Summer bedding why not find the Orangery or rose garden?. The luxurious herbaceous borders, Rose Garden give scent and colour in the summer months. Children can let off steam, or you can enjoy a quiet moment as you admire the magnificent moorland.

Don't miss our interactive exhibition about living and working at Lyme in the Timber Yard.

Delicious food, including venison from the park, is prepared in the Lyme kitchens; and with retail therapy at hand, Lyme really is a glorious day out.
