Progress Theatre, Reading, Berkshire, England is a self-governing, self-funding theatre group. It operates in the voluntary sector, is a registered Charity and maintains its own 97-seat theatre.

We produce a programme of varied, interesting and challenging drama to the highest standard. Each year sees around nine productions, most running for nine nights.

We have an active policy to educate, encourage and enliven in all aspects of theatre. Progress has a youth theatre comprising two Youth Groups and two Student Groups; a Writers‚ Group; the Friends of Progress and the Members themselves.

All auditions for our public productions are open to non-members. Various internal events, such as "Showcase" provide opportunities for newer or less experienced actors, directors, writers, stage managers and lighting and sound technicians.
