We have five newly completed rooms which are converted from an old stable block and the suite is converted from the village Balcksmith's Forge, you will find the traditional conversion sympathetically done in keeping with the older properties in this hamlet which is a real piece of old England.The Spread Eagle Inn is situated in the heart of Barton Bendish Village, a rural hamlet in beautiful West Norfolk. The Inn is between the historic Market Towns of Swaffham. and Downham Market with its famous ginger bread houses (so called as they are constructed of local ginger carr stone). We are 30 - 40 minutes drive from the scenic North Norfolk & North West Norfolk Coast making this an Ideal base to explore both Country side and coast alike. West Norfolk boasts some of the best foot paths and bridle ways for walkers and cyclist, with the famous roman path of Peddars Way and The scenic Nar Valley Way only a short distance from Barton Bendish. West Norfolk and the fens also offer some of the best fishing and shooting in the country and these time honored sports are still available for your enjoyment. If heritage is your passion we also have the National Trust's Oxborough Hall home of the Bedingfeld family since the 1500 and The Royal Estate at Sandringham are well worth a visit. Eagle Inn.
