Sherington

Sherington is a quiet and attractive village situated alongside the River Ouse, midway between Newport Pagnell and Olney in North Bucks. Listed in the Domesday Book as 'Serintone', the village still retains its historical layout. The village centre is a Conservation Area with several listed buildings, including a Manor House with moat.

The church, the only one in England dedicated to St Laud, has a 12th Century tower. The rest of the church dates mainly from the 14th-16th Centuries. There are two old pubs: the newly-renovated Swan Inn and the 300 year old White Hart, saved from closure 5 years ago by a village campaign.

Today, Sherington (population 1,000) is easily accessible from M1 Junction 14 . The New City of Milton Keynes's modern facilities are only 7 miles away.
