This salon is absolutely incredible and my hair has never looked better. I first booked in for highlights after having a disastrous experience at another 'top' London salon and met Taylor who is one of their top colourists. She really is a miracle worker and gave me the most amazing creamy blonde highlights I have ever had, they are completely flawless! From the moment I arrived I felt completely at ease and knew I'd picked the right place. The assistants were lovely too and so knowledgable about product. They used an amazing Jo Hansford hair mask on me that left my hair feeling so healthy and glossy that I had to take it home with me. I saw Marcio for a cut afterwards and he was an absolute master. My blow dry lasted days! I don't think I've ever been surrounded by so many people with such gorgeous hair, this is definitely the best salon in London and definitely worth the investment!

i don't really know what to say about the ladies complaining about jo hansford cause i go there all the time and when i leave the salon my hair looks amazing .also they do offer you advice on how to get the same look at home(i am talking about styling now),they are really friendly and willing to help all the time. the prices are high but if you want to have your hair done at a Mayfair salon you have to pay for Mayfair as well otherwise you've got lots of other salons to choose from. and by the way we are all different so the hair is different from one person to another and reacts in different way.i am the best example cause my natural hair has red shades no matter what you do to it so ladies don't put it all on the colorists cause i've been in lots of salons and trust me it doesn't get any better... that's only my point of view but i would like to thank everyone at Jo Hansford for the brilliant work they're doing.all myt love to jo .

I would sort of endorse all the other reviews! I've never spent that much on my hair previously, and am not totally dissatisfied with the result....on the other hand, would I pay it again, No! There was a mandatory £20 "consultation" for first timers, and the consultation was nothing more than one would expect to have when visiting a new hairdresser. A few minutes chat about what you want them to achieve, was all it was. The colour is fine, though not exactly what I wanted. The cut was unexceptional, and I think I had the same chap as the previous reviewer - it certainly took far longer to cut and blow dry than it need have done, due to his talkativeness. It was a very friendly salon, but I wouldn't go back - simply NOT worth the money.

This is not a top salon, my hair was ruined. I simply wanted an ash colour and had gold put in my hair and then they had the cheek to put a toner in my hair as they could not achieve what I wanted and charged me £50.00 on top of what I was already paying for my colour. I woul,d stay away from all these expensive salons as its a rip off> I am deeply unhappy that I cannot for the life of me find a good salon in London and I have been to a number of top salons and I still can't get what I want which is an basic ash colour.

Great for colour. Only 1 or 2 stylists in this salon in my opinion are worth paying £80+ for a cut and blow dry. Sarah my favourite has now left for Australia and I have tried 2 other senior stylists which are nothing special. I did see a girl leaving the salon today who had been to Tess and her hair looked super. One stylist, who works downstairs I took an instant dislike to as he told me all his personal problems. He knew everything - you name it he'd done it!! There is a credit crunch on - take note!

I have only recently found Jo Hansford and was amazed at the review I found about her on this site. I live in the shires and do not visit London very often. My local hairdresser does a reasonable job of cutting my hair but I have been using home colours to cover the encroaching grey. My hairdresser suggested some hightlights to make the block of colour more natural but made such a mess of my hair that I wept. I thought I could improve it by putting another all over colour on it but it just made things worse. My friend saw my despair and suggested that I went to Jo Hansford. I have never spent that kind of money on my hair but I was desperate. It was the best money I have ever spent. Although I ended up spending most of a day at the salon, I ended up with shining hair which is only just starting to look as if it needs some touching up. As I was a bit weepy, the girl went and asked Jo to come and speak to me personally and, although she didn't actually do my hair, she explained exactly what was needed and filled me with confidence. Perhaps I was lucky as I understand that she isn't always available in the salon. I felt that I must readdress the topic as I felt that 'Lou' could not have had the same experience as me. Why is she still going to Jo Hansford after 15 months if she is so unhappy? This sounds very strange.

have been going to Jo Hansfords for 15 months. I have dark hair and usually have problems with trying to achieve lighter shades because my hair kicks out red/yellow/orange tones. When I leave the hairdresser it looks great but after two or three washes it satrts to look those horrid warm cheap hair do shades again. Anyone who has dark hair that likes to be lighter will know what I mean. Its much esaier to go from blonde to black because youcan just keep adding a warm shade. However neutralising warm shades is not so easy and becomes very expensive if its not done more or less semi-permanently at the hairdresser. One would expect that when you pay between 300-500 for a colour change it should stay for at least 4 weeks but this has not been my experience at Jo Hansford. After a year of going there and my husband noticing the increasing amounts I was spending on trying to maintain the hair colour we realised that there were at least 7 different colours in my hair. I went to Nicky Clarke for a second opinion and they agreed. Nobody would have guessed from looking at myhair that I had gone to one of the so called 'top' hairdressers in london for the last year. Unfortunately when I wanted to discuss this further and asked to speak to Jo or the Manager- Alison I was told they were only available during limited hours. I had told them I wasnt 100% happy with my hair and that my work schedule meant I couldnt come in at their specified time but that I would try. Afterall it was just a quick 5 minute chat withthem that would have sufficed. Anyhow I did endeavour to turn up in that specified time only to be told that they were too busy to see me because they had just gone into a meeting. I am really disappointed with the attention they decided to give and given the custom I have bought to them I think it unreasonable that they should not even spare 5 minutes. So I would not go back. The one plus of this hairdresser is that they do not pass you between several people (sometimes my hairdreser even washed my hair!) so in that respect good. But if you have an unusual colour request then perhaps best try somewhere that takes a real interest in what you ask as theyll be the ones taht will probably listen should you need to discuss the outcome. This was not the place for that. I will be trying Michael CHaralambous 5 doors along next time!
