Whether or not you know anything about horses, a visit to The National Stud is a great day out for all the family, individuals or groups. Set in 500 acres at the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside just outside Newmarket town centre, The National Stud is one of the most prestigious stud farms in the country. It is the only Thoroughbred stud farm open for guided tours twice daily from 1 March to 30 September, plus Newmarket’s autumn race days. Tours run at 11:15am and 2:00pm. Our knowledgeable guides conduct tours of the Stud which take approximately 75 minutes, during which time you will see stallions, mares and foals and learn about the history of the Stud and the range of services if offers.
New for 2008:
On Newmarket Nights an additional tour will be run at 4:00pm
During October half term a tour will run each day at 11:15am
Visit Wavertree’s Coffee & Gift Shop, now fully licensed, and open daily from 9.30am -4.30pm, for breakfast, lunch, light refreshments and gifts.
