Winner of Best Scottish Visitor Attraction 2010 - ASVA

What do you think of when you hear the word 'museum' ? Does it conjure up glass cases, having to be quiet, being serious and certainly not touching anything? Well that's not what we think the Highland Folk Museum is about.

Our "Glass case" is our 80 acre, one mile long site where the largest objects are our recreated, carefully relocated and interpreted buildings. We want visitors of all ages to have a fun, perhaps nostalgic, experience where they can have the "craic" with our staff, perhaps have a go at an activity or craft, feel the weight of an object, experience the "reek" of peat or just enjoy a walk through the site looking out for red squirrels.

Families can spend 3-5 hours exploring the Museum, and there are picnic and play areas, café and shops on site to cater for all needs.
