Forest Welcome
The Forest of Dean is part of Gloucestershire yet cut off from the Cotswolds by the River Severn, so that it sometimes appears to be more a part of Wales, with whom it shares a border, than England. It is one of the most distinctive areas of Britain having a character that is uniquely its own!

Art Forest
The Forest of Dean is an inspirational place where creativity flourishes. If you want to see at first hand how the Forest’s magical environment speaks to artists then pay a visit to the Sculpture Trail at Beechenhurst where, amongst the many sculptures, the stained glass window hanging between the trees never fails to delight.

Forest Adventure and Activity
The area is a walker’s paradise with forest trails throughout its 27,000 acres of woodland. The Wye Valley Walk and Offas Dyke Path offer more challenging rambles through spectacular scenery. The Dean is a marvellous place for cyclists with over 200 kms of off-road cycling.

Forest Seasons
The Forest of Dean is a great place to visit all year round. The seasons bring an ever-changing landscape, from the vivid blues and yellows of wild bluebells and daffodils in spring to the gold and russet of the Forest in its autumn glory.
