The Olive Tree restaurant has an AA mention – as in the Sunday Times food critic AA Gill, who listed it as one of the top four Greek restaurants in the country. Just outside Leeds in Chapel Allerton, the Olive Tree dishes up thunderingly good food that will have you rapidly revising your view of Greek cuisine. Even the hummus is in a league of its own. If you're not sharing the sensational mezze plate to start, try the Kotopikatia – cubes of chicken, peppers, garlic, white wine and oregano in delicate filo pastry. For mains, Psaria Tygagita is a chargrilled fishy feast of swordfish, salmon, king prawns and calamari served with roasted vegetables. Desserts include Greek trifle and a gorgeously syrupy baklava. The restaurant's energy is summed up by its place in the Guinness Book of Records as makers of the longest kebab (325 metres) and the largest milkshake (17,425 litres).
