The Black Lion Hotel stands at the heart of Talybont, facing the village green. It's a fine old building, both inside and out, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Mine hosts at the Black Lion, Mark and Vicky Joseph, are a young and enthusiastic couple who have the made the hotel a popular venue for locals and visitors alike since they arrived here in the summer of 2007. The hotel is particularly noted for its good food which is served every lunchtime (noon until 2pm) and evening (5pm to closing time). The extensive menu ranges from old favourites like the home-made Steak & Ale Pie to meat dishes made with meat supplied fresh by the local butcher. Also on offer are fish, poultry and salad dishes, along with a range of curries. Vegetarians have their own menu that includes a home-made Spicy Vegetable Lasagne, and there's also a separate children's menu. Beverages on offer include up to 3 real ales with Hancocks HB as the regular brew. The hotel also has accommodation available in 6 comfortable upstairs en suite rooms. Children are welcome and all major credit cards are accepted. We have a restaurant that seats forty. We provide you with full cooked English breakfast, as well as provide dinner for you to enjoy in our restaurant.
