Gainsborough is a delightful Market town in Lincolnshire with the River Trent running through it, the triple arched 18th Century bridge spans the river to Wiltshire. The town has red bricked buildings gracing it’s streets, and the market is held twice weekly. The interesting history comes to life in Gainsborough Hall, a 15th Century Medieval House with a magnificent Great Hall and unchanged kitchens, follow in the footsteps of Richard 111 and Henry V111 both of whom stayed here, your visit doesn’t have to a secret though like the Pilgrim Fathers who also met here. Artists and photographers will enjoy the impressive church of All Saints with it’s Medieval Tower, or perhaps a round of golf at Gainsborough Golf Course with a choice of two 18 hole courses. The wonders of Mother Nature unfold on a visit to Wetlands Waterfowl Reserve, 32 acres of woodland with lakes and an exotic Bird Sanctuary. Or perhaps catch a curtain call at the Trinity Arts Centre at the cinema or one of the live shows. Or there is always Sundown Adventure land an explosion of fun for under 10’s, where Story Book Village will enthral, or pop into the Witches Kitchen where you can make things happen.
