Coleshill is to be found in North Warwickshire close to the River Cole and the River Blythe, tracing its history back to Roman times. A stroll up the step main street which is home to many local and exclusive shops bears testament to the reference that this is a ridge town. The most defining feature of Coleshill though is the Coleshill Parish Church with its impressive spire, the location of St Peter and St Paul’s has, even before the present church was built, been a sacred place of worship. Throughout its history the town has waxed and waned in importance, at one time an important staging post for the horse drawn coaches that travelled between London, Coventry, Holyhead and Chester. Today what is left of these coaching inns provide restaurants and coffee shops that are still popular with the traveller and residents alike. The town today still enjoys excellent transport links via the M6 and M42 making this extremely accessible for those that take the time to appreciate the local countryside and buildings. Coleshill School is one of the oldest schools in the country and dates back to 1520. This is a village with plenty to offer both the visitor and resident, if you happen to be passing close by it is well worth the time taken to have a detour and see how picturesque this village is and what it has to offer.
