| Events in Ardeonaig
Ardeonaig is a small village in the Stirling region of Scotland situated 5 miles east of Killin on the south side of Loch Tay at the mouth of the Finglen Burn.
The village was once a busy ferry-crossing point on Loch Tay, although the ferries no longer run Ardeonaig still has a beautiful harbour with picturesque views over Loch Tay.
Surrounded by scenic countryside Ardeonaig is an idyllic village and a popular tourist destination particularly for out-door pursuits, walking, cycling, fishing and nature-watching. The village is an ideal base for touring the attractions of Stirling, Aberfeldy and Pitlochry. There is holiday accommodation, with the main hotel and restaurant dating back to 1649, shops and amenities and places to eat out.
There is an out-door centre and Loch Tay offers a variety of water-sports and fishing. The International highland Games are held each July in neighbouring Killin.
Nearby attractions include the range of mountains at the Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve on the north side of Loch Tay. The Breadalbane Folklore Centre which houses eight healing stones of 8th century St. Fillan and has exhibitions of the story of the Scottish clans, The Scottish Crannog Centre, the 16th century Castle Menzies, the Dewars World of Whiskey; a working distillery with tours and tasting.
