Talsarnau is to be found in the County of Gwynedd in North Wales close to the Afon Dwyfryd which in turn flows into Cardigan Bay. The village is close to Harlech and this makes it an ideal location for those who prefer somewhere off the more popular tourist routes and yet wish to tour Snowdonia. Close to the centre of the estuary at Talsarnau there is a tidal island, Ynys Gifftan, and from here you can see the Italianate village of Portmeirion in the distance. The mountains around here are spectacular to view and from here it is possible to see Snowdon, in short if you enjoy the outdoor life then Talsarnau offers a great deal of choice especially if you intend to use the town as a base for trips to the more usual and busier resorts.
