Born 1886 . Died 1967 - English poet & novelist


Poet and author, well known for his satirical anti-war verse. Poems include The Daffodil Murderer (1913), The Old Huntsman (1917) and Counter-Attack (1918). In 1928 he published a fictionalised autobiography Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man which immediately became a classic and one him the James Tait Black Award.
