Born 1949 - English novelist and journalist.

Son of Kingsley Amis, he is a novelist and journalist. He also acted in the film A High Wind in Jamaica (1965). He worked for the Times Literary Supplement and Statesman but has been a full-time writer since 1979. His first novel was The Rachel Papers (1973), followed by Dead Babies (1975), Success (1978), Money (1984), London Fields (1989), Time’s Arrow (1991), The Information (1995) and a memoir, Experience (2000).
