Born 1877. Died 1964 - English suffragette, socialist and writer.


An English suffragette, she first met Emmeline Pankhurst when her job was threatened for refusing to teach religious instruction. She became friends with the Pankhursts and Annie Kenney, joining the Women’s Social and Political Union (1903) and becoming it’s London organiser (1907). Although imprisoned twice for her activities she became a critic of the more militant suffragists writing The Militant Suffrage Movement (1911).
