Pseudonym of Osborne Henry Mavor. Qualified as doctor at Glasgow University. Always interested in theatre, his Sunlight Sonata was produced in 1928. Wrote further plays including The Anatomist (1931) and A Sleeping Clergyman (1933). Founded the Citizens’ Theatre in Glasgow in 1943.
