Born 1780. Died 1847 - Scottish theologian and reformer.


Educated at St Andrews. Ordained in 1803. Extremely good orator. In 1843 led the Disruption which resulted in the founding of the Free Church of Scotland. Principal of the Free Church College from 1843 to 1847. Completed his Institutes of Theology.
