Born 1514. Died 1557 - English scholar.

Tutor to Prince of Wales whose accession led to a seat in parliament in 1547 and a knighthood in 1552. Imprisoned during reign of Mary I. Went abroad to teach but seized while in Belgium, taken to Tower of London and forced to recant his Portestantism.
