Born 1893. Died 1993 - Scottish general and ornithologist.


As Commander in Burma during WWII he inflicted the first heavy defeat on Japanese forces. Completed defeat one year later, for this he was knighted in the field. Commanded forces in Netherland East Indies ending fighting between Dutch and Indonesians. Well known ornithologist. Died just after celebrating 100th birthday.
