Played with Hull, Derby, Lincoln, Bristol City and Oxford before his career end at the age of 27 due to injury. Coach at Derby before becoming assistant manager to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. Became manager at Middlesbrough in June 2001 before being appointed Englandís manager in 2006.
