Born 1934 - Motor cycle racer and Formula One driver.

Won the 1956 Surtees 500cc world championship. Dominated the motorcycle Grand Prix championships in 1958, 1959 and 1960 winning 32 out of 39 races. Made his Formula 1 debut racing for Lotus in the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. Won the world championship for the Italian team Ferrari in 1964 and the Belgain Grand Prix in 1966. In 1970, he formed his own race team, Surtees Racing Organization, retired from competition in 1972.
