Born 1795. Bied 1837 - Scottish painter and printmaker.

Could neither hear nor speak, taught to read and write by Thomas Braidwood. Best known for his paintings of everyday and his topographical drawings. Notable works include a collection of etchings, Sketches of Scottish Life and Character.
