Born 1943 - English actress.
Studied at the Italia Conti Academy stage school. Played Joyce Harker in the 1960s soap opera The Newcomers. Became well known for the role of Miss Shirley Brahms in the sitcom Are You Being Served? Had further success with the role of Pauline Fowler in the soap opera EastEnders (1985 – 2006). Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her role in Eastenders in 2007. Died in 2009
