I A Richards

Born in Sandbach, Cheshire
Born on 26th of February 1893
Died on 8th of September 1979

Richards studied philosophy at Cambridge University before moving into the then new academic field of English literary studies. He became a highly influential literary critic, one of the founders of The New Criticism. Richards was a Cambridge Professor before moving to Harvard. In later life he published poetry of his own.
