A Scottish novelist and dramatist, his first novels such as Auld Licht Idylls (1888), A Window in Thrums (1889) and The Little Minister (1891) were very successful. His works for theatre include Ibsen’s Ghost (1891), Quality Street (1901) and The Admirable Crichton (1902).But he is undoubtedly best known for inventing Peter Pan (based on his close friends the Llewelyn Davies boys) which was first performed on Decmeber 27th 1904.
