The education section on Bacon’s CV includes private school Worksop College and a year at Nottingham Trent University. He was a presenter on Blue Peter for 18 months, becoming the first on the show to be sacked after drug-taking revelations. For four years (2010 to 2014) he presented the afternoon show on Radio 5 Live, ostensibly a news programme that suffered from the contrast with previous presenter Simon Mayo, whose intelligent approach he failed to match. Hosting The Big Painting Challenge with Una Stubbs seems far more suited to his talents.
