Born 1950 - English rock singer & songwriter of Genesis fame.
First enjoyed fame as the lead vocalist and flautist in the progressive rock group Genesis, which he founded while still at school. After leaving Genesis in 1975 he went on to have a successful solo career (salisbury hill, sledgehammer), and one of his most recent projects was to compere and perform at the Eden Project Live 8 in July 2005.
