Born 1903. Died 1992 - English artist.

Studied at Royal College of Art. Exhibited regularly with the London Group. Collobarated with John Betjeman on books. Appointed official war artist in 1944. Published a number of books, was a prolific photographer, etcher, printmaker, designer of scenery and costumes for opera, ballet and theatre. He also created murals, stained glass for schools, colleges, churches & cathedrals (Coventry Cathedral) as well as designs for tapestries & fabrics. Died at his home in Fawley Bottom.
