Born 1752. Died 1803 - English antiquary.

Noted for his vegetarianism and attacks made on literary reputations. Criticised Thomas Wartonís History of English Poetry and Dr Johnson and George Stevens for their text of Shakespeare. Exposed Samuel Irelandís forgeries of Shakespeare.
