Born 1924 - English actor and manager.
Founded Rix Theatrical Productions at Ilkley in 1948 and another company at the Hippodrome, Margate in 1949. Appeared in and managed the Whitehall farces which rant during the during the 1950s and 1960s. Moved to Garrick Theatre in 1967. Left theatre to work for Mencap. Knighted in 1986, made peer in 1992.
