Born on 3rd of August 1935

Born 1935 - Scottish painter.

Studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen. Director of Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums (1968-89). Adopted a style based on American minimal abstraction with minimal use of colour. Awarded OBE in 1992.
