Born 1667 . Died 1745 - Anglo-Irish satirist & clergyman

Educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Family connections helped him become secretary to a diplomat. Wrote various political pamphlets and letters regarding the unfair treatment of Ireland by the British government as well as biographies, verses and pamphlets on Church matters. Best known for his satirical novel, Gulliver’s Travels.
