Historic Ripley Castle near Harrogate, North Yorks, is the lovely venue for the second SUMMER MAGIC PROMS of 2007 on Saturday 21 July (This is the sixth year at Ripley). Compere/Conductor Frank Renton will lead his British Concert Orchestra accompanied by soprano, Deborah Myers, and tenor, Richard Coxon. The popular United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band play a support concert from 6.30pm (concert field open from 5.30pm). No less than two World War II Spitfires from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fly a stirring display at 8pm to herald the start of the main concert. It’s the 50th anniversary year of the BBMF’s formation. The evening culminates with a superb fireworks display providing the background to renditions of all your favourite Proms songs and music.
