We always go to trooping the colour - a truly british occasion with all the colour, pomp and circumstance you would expect - plus its an excuse to go shopping afterwards

I wanted to purchase a Denby dinner service which was on offer. None available in store. We were helped by five different assistants, as they attempted to track down the service we wanted. Eventually Sue became involved and she also had the more experienced team to track the set down. Sure enough the girls did the job, and my dinner service should be with me before Christmas. I was more than impressed. They gave the wow factor

To a person who enjoys precision military drill trooping of the colour at Horseguards was an experience that has no equal.I have seen the parade about ten times as a child in British Jamaica prior to 1962, at that time I thought there was no room for improvement. However, the precision, the order, the straight colums of marching troops, the flawless execution of complex movement, the immaculate uniforms, the immediate response to commands explains the enigma of a small country like England was able to amass the largest and most powerful empire known to man. Trooping the colour at Horseguards is an experience I will never forget.
