The pub was clean on arrival, staff where polite and provided a quick service.
Order two roast dinners with a total cost of £17.70.
However the food delivered was lacking a home made feeling, the roast pork was a little dry with no crackling provided.
The roast beef was again a little dry.
In comparison the two roast dinners order where not good value for money and lacked appetising presentation.

Iha dheard wonderful things about The Gold Cup but was highly disappointed. Firstly I was not given the wine I asked for and it wasn't opened at the table or offered to test, however, because we were there for my Dad's birthday I let it slide. I ordered braised venison which came dry and tough, when I sent it back the owner came out telling me that as far as he was concerned it was perfect and I don't know what I'm talking about!!! Talk about gobsmacked, I have never been spoken to like this before and at the end of the meal when I addressed this with him his response was, 'well you win some you lose some'. He in no way tried to apologise for the bad experience and told me that customers are usually wrong. What a nasty, smug, rude man. The other meals in the group were fine but if you make a complaint prepare yourself to be told in no uncertain terms that you are wrong and receive no apology and quite frankly the worst service I have ever received, especially from the owner.

A really lovely pub with a lovely restaurant and the food is to die for! I can definately recommend the Lamb shank as it was cooked to perfection and the gravy was soooo moorish!
