This is by far the most traditional of all the Highland Games that we have been to. We have now travelled from the West Coast five times and will be there this year again with the family. The location itself is idillic. The atmosphere takes you back decades! many kilted visitors of all backgrounds. The event is set in the fantastic grounds of Cortachy Castle, the family home of the 13th Earl of Airlie, who along with his wife the Countess of Airlie, their children and grandchildren are very friendly and welcoming. The event is family oriented, the flower and local agricultural produce marquee is a must for all to enjoy. The food that is available is of the highest quality like Aberdeen Angus burgers at affordable prices, they sell the locally produced famous and delicious Visocci ice cream, home baking etc. The dogs races are very funny and the Heavies are a spectacle not to be missed, the Highland dancing is amazing, the children's events means your children will have a great time. The event attracts famous people who mix and mingle with the rest of the crowd and every year they seem to get sunshine! we always say: "That was the best Games so far" so we are looking forward to being there this year.
