Well as a resident of Kimpton have to say the previous reviewer seems to have got pubs mixed up. The White Horse is by far the prettier pub BUT the landlord is not very friendly and the food is expensive for what it is.
The Boot has now got the chef from the Stable Door in Welwyn and food is really going somewhere. Had the Tennis club end of season "Curry night" there and food was great.
Barry and Robbie (lady) are really friendly and are so succesful have just added 6 accomodation units which have been done really nice.(£59 B&B per room for 2). Certainly Green King liked them enough to stump up the cash!
