It may not be professional to gush our way through a review, but in Plateau's case we're making an exception. From the sci-fi setting overlooking Canary Wharf to the faultless service and fine food, Plateau is perfection. Like any true lady, this restaurant has different but equally delectable sides to her. During the day she plays a seriously cool all-glass setting for hot-shot business lunches, while at night she dims her lights to transform herself into a seductive, spacious haven of special occasions (we wanted our evening to last forever. We really did). Night time is definitely the time to go. The towering twinkling views combined with the colourful reflections on the glass ceiling create the impression of relaxing in a magical modern castle. Even the swivel chairs under the Italian marble tables are the best. And do seek the advice of Michael, the sommelier. The man's a genius. As arguably is Tim Tolley the Michelin-starred head chef for creating dishes such as the chestnut broth and wild mushroom ravioli starter that remind you how food should taste. Go to Plateau. Go, go, go.
