This romantic house has been the home of the Proby family for over 350 years. Excellent furniture and outstanding paintings by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Constable and other fine artists. The Library is one of the finest in private hands with over 12,000 books, including Henry VIII's prayer book. Wonderful gardens, including restored Rose Garden, Knot and Sunken Gardens and recently planted Arboretum. Stunning new Gothic Orangery. The Walled Garden Plant Centre in the old Kitchen Garden.

Admission: House and Gardens - Adults £7.50 Concessions OAP £6.50
Garden only - Adults £5.00 Concession OAP £4.50 (accompanied children under 16 free).

Opening times: 2pm - 5pm
May B/H 27th and 28th , Wednesdays in June, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in July and August and August Bank Holiday Monday 27th; Parties by appointment April - September.
