14th Century building, originally thought to have been a farmhouse. Has been a public house since approximately 1780. The Inn was used as a stop off point within the Wychwood Forest by highwaymen to divide their stolen loot. John Wesley is said to have preached under the Chestnut tree in front of the Crown.
