The Wilson Arms is a welcoming country inn situated in the small North Yorkshire Village of Sneaton, only two miles from the centre of Whitby. The historic Grade II listed building, dates back to the 18th century and has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, wooden beams and roaring log fires during the winter months. The Wilson Arms is situated away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life, in the heart of the Eskdale valley. The area offers excellent walking on the North Yorkshire moors and coast. The historically minded will be fascinated by the ancient Monks Pathway passing just below the inn, for centuries an ancient route down to the old sailing port of Whitby. Nearby is the Sneaton Beacon, part of a chain of Beacons along the east coast. In days gone by the flame warned of Northern invaders and, in recent times, to celebrate major nation events.
