A lively busy village 20 minutes from Brighton and a few miles to historic Lewes with it’s cobbled winding streets. At the highest point of the village the wonderful view of St Peters Church which dates back in some parts to 1250 is truly magnificent. One of the oldest Cricket Club in the world is also here started in 1771. Walkers, painters, photographers and explorers will definitely wish to visit Woods Mill, where 28 acres encompasses an extensive Nature Trail, if you time it right the magical bluebell carpet unfolds in the wood where nightingales sing, or if you miss that, later in the season butterflies and dragonflies linger….perfect. The village has many unusual shops, or for those aching feet the pubs and restaurants will soon revive. Henfield Museum has exhibits from Medieval times to the 20th Century whatever your interest from fossils, paintings, to uniforms of the Sussex Rifle Regimental, all are proudly displayed. With over 50 acres of ancient common land with woods and ponds, home to Nightingales and deer, where you can enjoy a picnic watch a cricket match or go for a walk, whatever your pleasure it’s all here just waiting to be enjoyed.
