Born 1940 – English actor.

Began his television career in 1964 in Crossroads. Co-starred with Eric Idles, Terry Jones and Michael Palin in the television sketch comedy Do Not Adjust Your Set (1967-69). Best known for his role as Del Boy in the BBC television sitcom Only Fools and Horses (1981-2003). Has had further success in the Darling Buds of May (1991-93) and as the detective chief inspector Jack Frost in A Touch of Frost. Received an OBE in 1993, knighted in 2005 for services to acting.
