Wickham House dates from the 17th Century and retains all its old world charm. The house and grounds are sheltered by trees in a quiet lane, the cottage is surrounded by its own gardens and placed next to the village church. A cozy library / lounge with exposed timber and brickwork welcomes you into this delightful cottage. The BnB is located in the village of Conisholme which is a small rural community set on the marsh just a few minutes from the sea. The village is only 9 miles from the Georgian town of Louth. The town nestles on the edge of the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds. Wickham house affords easy access to the Lincolnshire coast. There is a bird reserve at Tetney Haven, a colony of grey seals at Donna Nook and Marsh Orchids at Rumac. On the marsh the quiet lanes and footpaths offer excellent opportunities for walking and cycling. A landscape with watermills, redundant churches, abandoned mediaeval villages, Lincoln Red cattle, Long Wool sheep and redbrick farmsteads. On the gentle slopes of the wolds, the blue Stone Heath Road and Viking Way guide the traveller though peaceful villages to sweeping views of the coastal plain, and shipping on the estuary beyond. The seaside resorts of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea with their wide sandy beaches, and the large holiday resort of Cleethorpes and Skegness are within easy reach. The battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at R.A.F. Coningsby, is open to the public and has the only flying Lancaster (City of Lincoln) in its care. Nearby is Tattershall Castle run by the National Trust. Woodhall Spa has a special Victorian appeal. There are antique centres at Horncastle and Hemswell. Snipedales Country Park, Old Bolingbroke Castle and 'Tennyson Country' all contribute to the peace and beauty of this quite corner of England Further afield is the important City of Lincoln with its Cathedral and Castle. Gainsborough Old Hall, the Fishing Heritage Centre at Grimsby and the Humber Bridge. All this and much more of Lincolnshire is within easy driving distance of Wickham House where you can return to relax and enjoy the peace of the countryside in pleasant surroundings
