A family Country House with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, within Dartmoor National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lydford Country House has been welcoming guests for over 100 years and was built by the celebrated artist William Widgery (1822-1893), standing in 8 acres of delightful gardens and pastureland in the historic village of Lydford close to the Devon/Cornwall border.

There are 11 spacious well-equipped en-suite bedrooms. All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers, colour TV, etc. with most rooms having free access to broadband wireless internet. A twin and a double ground floor rooms are available and two of our superior rooms has a four-poster. All of our rooms are non-smoking. There is also a charming self-catering apartment; The Nest, which sleeps up to 5 persons.

"La Cascata", our Italian restaurant, allows you to enjoy the best of Italian cuisine, situated in the garden room one can enjoy the fabulous sunsets at the same. The house is surrounded by extensive gardens and grounds where you can stroll and get to know some of our resident horses, hens, cats and goats or sit on the patio next to the ponds and relax to the sound of the waterfalls and enjoy a cream tea. There is a large private car park. On cooler evenings have a glass of wine or beer around the log fire in our elegant guest lounge and make friends with our friendly collie, Toby and red setter, Gypsy.
