Studied at the Slade School of Art and Central School of Arts and Crafts, London. Well known for her female portraits including that of Flora Robson in the role of Lady Audley. Appointed official war artist in 1940 painting evacuees and women in traditionally male occupations. Elected member of Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
