Officially Jessica Ellen Cornish, Jessie J (the J apparently doesn’t stand for anything) has had numerous single hits (creating a record in fact with six from the same album), the first Do it Like a Dude. Her style is difficult to categorize, with elements of pop, hip-hop, soul and R&B among others in there, and this has (rather unfairly) led to criticism of her for not sticking to one route, and for putting energy before subtlety in her performances. Having sold over 10 million singles and written hits for other artists, she could probably care less.
