The comfortably sized city of Bath is packed with places to visit.
Bath's rich diversity of museums, galleries, gardens and attractions -
including the Roman Baths and 15th century Bath Abbey - are all within
easy walking distance of each other.
It's a beautiful city full of stunning sights such as the glorious
Pulteney Bridge spanning the River Avon, the grand Georgian curve of the
Royal Crescent, the greenery of many beautiful parks and gardens and,
due to open in early 2005, the stunning contemporary design of the new
Thermae Bath Spa.
Bath may have a long and unique history (the Romans settled here over 2
000 years ago) but today's Bath is a thriving, vibrant city with a
cosmopolitan buzz. Bath offers an enviable lifestyle, with a lively,
year round calendar of festivals, theatrical, musical and sporting
events. Over 150 restaurants and pubs are scattered amongst some of the
best quality independent and national brands in Britain.
Bath also makes the perfect base from which to explore the delights of
North East Somerset and beyond - there is walking, cycling, boating and
fishing on the River Avon and Kennet and Avon Canal and the delightful
countryside which surrounds them, as well as at the nearby Cotswolds and
Mendips, both designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
